Haven
Acrylic on Canvas
16" x 24"
17 November 2015

Haven depicts the inner child in all of us. The child that possesses a great sense of wonder and yearning to explore the many possibilities of the world as one forgets the limitations posted by society but the world demands that we conform.

Yet, there are instances that we sought escape from the concrete walls of our way of thinking and clockwork style of living. I like to believe each of us has that place where we feel safe, protected and free.

Once in a while, we escape into the memories of our young selves. Once in a while, we find ourselves playing in our lost haven.

Triumphant Rekindling
Charcoal and Acrylic on Canvas
30" x 40"
5 November 2015

My works are mirrors of what I feel and the jargon thoughts I have during my initial sketches. This work in particular, is a salute to the women who have defied the constricting stereotypes of society and triumphed over the challenges of the old as well as the modern world. The light they possess and choose to share is a beacon to others in life's journey.

It is when your mind is calm and your heart is confident that you find your way out out of the dark
